ali AND swan/BareBebe Dryer Balls and a GIVEAWAY!

I am so excited about today's giveaway! I am an Etsy addict. I freely admit it! A few months ago I ran across a cute shop called BareBebe. I quickly ordered a sampler pack that included diaper wipe solution, pail freshner, a cloth baby wipe and wool dryer ball. I have been meaning to buy a dryer ball for a long time so I was thrilled to finally be able to check that off the to-do list.

The wipe solution smelled awesome(vanilla), the wipe was divine(Organic bamboo and velour!) and the pail freshner worked like a charm! But the dryer ball... that was my favorite part! I could not believe how much it cut back on drying time! And even though we were in the middle of the driest winter Florida had seen in a long time, my clothes did not have static at all and they were nice and fluffy!
I was so excited I ordered more, this time from another shop so I could compare them. Unfortunately the second set(of 3- the more the merrier, right?) were small and light compared to the ball from BareBebe. In dryer balls, bigger is better. Heavier is better.

One of the reasons I love Etsy is because it supports WAHM(work at home moms). Most of the stuff I buy on Etsy is from WAHMs and I have never been disappointed. BareBebe's shop owner Ali is all about WAHMs. She even has a website featuring the products of WAHMs called Ali and Swan

And let me just tell you, I am in TROUBLE! After scanning all of her products, I know where my tax refund money is going!

Things I have learned about baby food and a GIVEAWAY!

It's been a few weeks with my Beaba Babycook and I still love it! I have learned a few things though.

First, don't add formula to your baby food. Just add water. I threw out the bananas I made and thinned with formula because once defrosted, they stank! Not appetizing! With the BabyCook, when you steam the veggies or fruit, you end up with some water at the bottom of the bowl. I just use that to thin my mixes and it makes them smell fresher and much more like real food!

Second, don't overfill your processor! Watery mixes will really go flying when you process them so be careful!

Third, if your mix does have a high water content, don't fill your freezer jars to the top. The mix expands and will pop the top easily.

Liam's favorites are avocado, peas and apple. He is not a fan of carrots but I have read that carrots(even organic) are high in nitrates so I have not pushed them. The next foods on my list to try are bananas(again), butternut squash, sweet potato and pears.

This week I also found another new favorite from Beaba!

The Beaba First Spoon set

I have used other silicone spoons before and they always seemed too big for the baby's mouth so I quickly let them settle to the bottom of my silverware drawer. But these spoons are perfect for a young baby's mouth. The silicone is firm but soft enough that if your little one chomped on it they would not hurt their gums. In fact, once I finish feeding Liam his lunch, I often hand him the spoon to chew on. I even keep one in the fridge to sooth his aching gums.
